We had an amazing experience visiting Lycıa Wine House in Elmalı with our students. During our visit, we learned about every step of the wine-making process, from the vineyards to the bottling stage.
The visit to Likya Wine House in Elmalı has provided a significant research and experiential opportunity in the realms of sustainable tourism and education. Students from the Faculty of Tourism and the Faculty of Social and Humanities Sciences at Manavgat have explored the wine-making processes in detail during this visit.
Throughout the visit, the eco-friendly practices and commitment to sustainability principles at Likya Wine House have been remarkable. Starting from the vineyards and extending to measures such as composting waste and energy conservation, the establishment strives to minimize its environmental footprint. These practices serve as a vivid example for students regarding the importance of environmental preservation and efficient resource utilization, key components of sustainable tourism.
The training sessions provided by the staff of Likya Wine House and the expertise of Associate Professor Ramazan Eren have enabled students to scrutinize the wine-making processes from an academic perspective. These sessions delve deep into the scientific and technical aspects of wine production, enhancing students' knowledge and skills in this field.
Furthermore, the relations between Likya Wine House and the local community have been taken into account. The establishment supports local producers by sourcing grapes for wine production locally, thereby aiding them in sustaining their livelihoods in this sector. This approach not only contributes to the local economy but also sets an example for collaboration-based sustainable practices.
